Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix
I just love the holidays because they always give me such a great excuse to dive headfirst into holiday baking recipes and DIY craft projects. Today, I’m going to be sharing a recipe for one of my favorite holiday baking ideas — triple chocolate brownie mix in a jar.
You can use a quart-sized jar to store your pre-prepared homemade brownie mix until you’re ready to actually bake the brownies. Also, feel free to print out the recipe tag on cardstock to print out and attach to the jar as well. You can even get your kids involved after the fact by getting them to help decorate the jar too.
Homemade Brownie Mix That’s Ready To Go Whenever You Are
One of the best things about this recipes like this one is how they make for such neat holiday decorations. This jar of brownie mix just looks so cool once it’s filled and decorated. But the very best part about this recipe? It’s definitely how well the brownies turn out, and it’s all thanks to this homemade brownie mix recipe.
You’ll start out by mixing together one cup of all purpose four together in a bowl with your salt and baking powder. Next, you’ll need to layer in the rest of the ingredients into the jar, following the order described in the directions listed further below.
Once you have layered everything in the jar, feel free to let your kids go nuts with the holiday decorating!
One Jar of Brownie Mix That Makes Ridiculously Good Brownies
As cool as your holiday jar of brownie mix might look, eventually you’re obviously going to want to bake a batch of brownies to dig into over the holidays. Whenever you’re ready to actually make the brownies, simply grab your jar of brownie mix and empty it all out into a large bowl. Mix together 5 ounces of melted butter, one large egg, and 4 tablespoons of milk in a separate bowl and then add this new wet mixture in with your brownie mix.
From here, it’s a simple matter of pouring your brownie mix into an 8×8 baking pan and throwing them in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees F.
The Perfect Gift Idea
Alternatively, this holiday brownie mix in a jar also makes for a fantastic gift to give. It’s incredibly easy to prepare a few different jars with brownie mix in them to give to the loved ones in your life.
How Long Will This Keep?
When stored in a cool, dry place, this brownie mix will keep for 1-2 weeks. For longer shelf life, you may want to separate the chocolate chips from the other dry ingredients in the jar. Also, be sure to store your brownie mix in an air-dry container to avoid moisture seeping in. Where there is moisture, mold can develop and ruin your mix. As long as keep it dry, this brownie mix in a jar can keep for as long as 1-2 months.
