Instant Pot Hawaiian Style Kalua Pork – Easy Pressure Cooker Recipe

Ingredients

3 pounds pork roast

2 tsp Hawaiian red sea salt

2 tsp smoked paprika or liquid smoke

1 cup water

1 small head green cabbage, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl combine Hawaiian red sea salt and smoked paprika.
  2. Rub the mixture all over the pork roast.
  3. Place the pork roast in the Instant pot.
  4. Add 1 cup of water.
  5. Close and seal the Instant pot.
  6. Turn the venting knob to SEALING.
  7. Press the PRESSURE COOK button and check to make sure the pressure level shows as “High” on the display.
  8. Adjust the timer to 60 minutes.
  9. When finished cooking, release pressure naturally according to manufacturer’s directions.
  10. Open the lid.
  11. Remove the pork from the Instant pot.
  12. Shred the pork with 2 forks and set aside.
  13. Add the cabbage to the Instant pot.
  14. Close and seal the Instant pot.
  15. Turn the venting knob to SEALING.
  16. Press the PRESSURE COOK button and check to make sure the pressure level shows as “High” on the display.
  17. Adjust the timer to 3 minutes.
  18. When finished cooking, let the pressure come down naturally for 5 minutes, then quick release the rest of the pressure.
  19. Open the lid.
  20. Serve the pork with cabbage and rice.
