How to Cook Healthier Ground Beef in an Instant Pot

  1. Place the trivet in the Instant pot.
  2. Add 1 cup of water.
  3. Place the ground beef on the trivet.
  4. Close and seal the Instant pot.
  5. Turn the venting knob to SEALING.
  6. Press the PRESSURE COOK button and check to make sure the pressure level shows as “High” on the display.
  7. Adjust the timer to 25 minutes for frozen ground beef or 6 minutes for fresh ground beef.
  8. When finished cooking, let the pressure come down naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release the rest of the pressure.
  9. Open the lid.
  10. Carefully transfer the beef into a bowl.
  11. Crumble with a wooden spoon into small pieces.
  12. Season with salt, black pepper and your favorite spices to taste.
  13. Use as desired.
