How to Make the Best Hot Chocolate Ever

The perfect cup of hot chocolate does exist, and it’s well within your reach.

The first step is figuring out your base. Some like to use condensed milk for their base, but if you prefer a less sweet version, start out with warmed full-fat milk. For dairy-free options, use oat milk or even almond milk.

Next, you’ll add another sweetener if needed. Brown sugar works great when dissolved in warmed milk, but if you’re already starting out with condensed milk, you may want to skip any additional sweetener.

Add water as needed to dilute the sweetener or condensed milk. Finally, add the chocolate spoons or the hot chocolate on a stick as your main chocolate source. Mix it all up together and give it a taste.

Add toppings as needed. Don’t be shy!

Can I Store the Leftovers of this Hot Chocolate Board for Later?

We highly recommended preparing just enough for one serving, as some of the toppings on this Hot Chocolate Board are best served fresh so that they stay crisp.

However, it won’t hurt to save some of the leftovers from dinner for a little midnight snack. In that case, just cover the whole board with some cling wrap and store it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
