The Best Homemade Mulled Wine Recipe + DIY Mulled Wine Gift
Do you need a good idea for a diy gift? How about some wine and spices? Together they can make a wonderful and full of memories taste. Let me show you how to make in a few simple steps a “Mulled Wine Kit” gift and the best mulled wine recipe ever.
For this recipe, a shop-bought bottle of a red wine will be good, but also will be great if you have a bottle of homemade red wine.
Here is a list of all you will need:
Cotton Square about 10X10 in (25X25 cm)
Ribbon
String
Star anise
Whole cloves
Cardamom pods
Whole nutmeg
Cinnamon sticks
2 tablespoon Dried Orange Peel
Bottle of red wine
Gift tag
Step 1
If you want to use an original wine bottle, remove all labels from it. However, I decided to use different bottle, which I found more interesting and more attractive. I also think that it gives an original touch to it.
Step 2
Mix all spices in a small bowl. Otherwise, you can use Mulling Spices Mix. I found one at Peet`s.
Step 3
The next step – make a pouch with spices. Put on the cotton square with your mulled wine mix. Gather up the edges of the cotton square to form small pouch and tie securely with the string. Then attach the cinnamon stick and make a loop to hang the bag over a wine bottle.
Step 4
Hang a muslin bag and gift tag on a wine bottle.
Step 5
Almost done! Now, write down a recipe on a gift tag. I used the following recipe that I found, but you can write down your own. Whatever you write will be great.
