DIY Christmas Cookie Tins {Fun & Simple Gift}
Sometimes a good idea can come quite unexpectedly. I love to bake cookies and I think that it is a tasty way to entertain friends. To make it more fun I also like to create a packaging design for my cookies. Using these both skills, you can create something incredible, something that nobody has done before.
So, I recently found a few empty coffee tins in the kitchen (I never throw away good things 🙂 ). Therefore, I decided it would be nice to make something useful and beautiful at the same time. With a little bit of paint and handmade love it is very easy to turn a coffee tins into lovely cookie tins. It was pretty simple, interesting and fun to create nice package for delicious cookies.
I hope you will be able to find easily all “ingredients” to create a cookie tin at home.
Here is a list of all materials you will need:
Coffee tin with lid
Acrylic paint
Piece of paper
Paintbrush
Scissors
Pencil
Black Marker
If everything is ready, I think we can start it!
Step 1: Gently and carefully paint a coffee tin with a few coats of acrylic paint (~ four layers, depends on the color saturation of pain). Let each coats dry before applying a next one.
Step 2: While the paint dries, we can get started on the labels. Draw the desired pattern onto a piece of paper and cut it out.
Step 3: Stroke the pattern on a coffee tin. Fill it with white paint. Let a white paint dry and paint it one more time if needed.
Step 4: Using a thin brush add more details and patterns with white paint.
Step 5: To complete our beautiful cookie tin we can write on it something fun using a black marker. For example, I wrote “Eat Me”, but it could be anything you want. Be creative!
Now we have a beautiful cookie tins! Although, you can use them as a tin for coffee, but now it is a special tin that is made with a love.
*For more options try different colors and make them colorful and bright.
