2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts

1 cup ketchup

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup water

2 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp smoked paprika

2 tsp salt

½ tsp cayenne pepper

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder


  1. Place the chicken in a slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl combine the ketchup, brown sugar, water, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
  3. Reserve ½ cup of the BBQ sauce.
  4. Pour the rest over the chicken and toss to coat.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks.
  7. Return the chicken to the slow cooker and stir.
  8. Cook on low for 30 minutes.
  9. Mix the shredded chicken with reserved BBQ sauce and serve.
