Caramel Vanilla Liquer

Homemade Caramel Vanilla Liqueur



4 cups rum 

2 (14 oz) cans sweetened condensed milk 

seeds from one vanilla bean


  1. Place the unopened cans in a large pot. 
  2. Cover with water. 
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat. 
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 hours. 
  5. Make sure the cans are always covered by water. 
  6. Remove from the heat. 
  7. Allow to cool completely. 
  8. Open the cans. 
  9. Place the caramelized mixture, rum and vanilla seeds in a blender and blend until smooth. 
  10. Pour into a sterilized bottles and seal. 
  11. Store in the refrigerator.
